Adobe just announced the availability of Photoshop Elements version 8. Looks like I can finally ditch the full version of photoshop and just use Elements. Much cheaper ($79) and does everything I need. Sit through the whole video if you want to see some amazing stuff you can do with Photoshop Elements 8.
Looks like an interesting product if they can bring it to market at the right price. I like the fact the J. Allard is leading the project. He was the lead for the Xbox 360, arguably Microsoft’s greatest product.
How far have we come in 50 years of automotive safety? When I think of older cars I think of tons of steel, when I think of today’s cars I think of cheap plastic. Steel safe, plastic not so safe. The insurance institute tells a different story.
Are you looking for a challenge? How about a little bike ride? OK sounds great but where do we go? How about coast to coast in 10 days! That is the premise for Bicycle Dreams. A movie about the Race Across America. And you thought the Tour de France was hard. This years winner Dani Wyss actually completed the race in 8 days. Yes 3,017 miles with an average speed of 15.24mph!
The Google Mobile app has been out for a while. I find that I actually use it and it works pretty well even if only for quicklinks to google docs, cal and others for both personal and company versions.
Not sure why but I like flashlights. I have more flashlights than I need but still want more. They are scattered about the house just in case. A nice Maglite with 3 D batteries in each car. Good for light or a weapon just in case. In my camera bag you will find a super compact bombproof Inova X5MT. I stumbled across the Blackfire clamp light in the Twittersphere, it looks very handy. I may have to pick one up. They must have spent all their money with this cool animation because their website still says launching soon. I will update this post when they launch and I can actually buy the thing. Post a comment if you find out.
Back in the day when I used to ride and race Greg LeMond was the man in cycling. Bike Radar has a nice 3 part article about the behind the scenes of the 1989 Tour de France. Possibly one of the greatest Tours of all time. The story is even more amazing when you get a behind the scenes look at what was going on.
