I really don't think the container has anything to do with it. I have the G7 with chdk firmware and have really liked it. However if I were to improve it I'd give it a wide angle lens and make it much smaller. Sort of make it an LX-3. We'll see if the LX-3 can take pictures without purposely making them resemble a Degas print. I chose the G7 over the LX-1 and LX-2 for that reason.
